Dr. Sam Herbert
We are please to welcome Dr. Sam Herbert to our practice. Dr. Herbert grew up in Davis, California where he played baseball for Davis Senior High. His love of baseball took him to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. He played outfield for the Mustangs for 4 years. In 2004 he was able to pursue his dream of playing professional baseball after being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. He played center field for two years within the Cardinals organization. As a result of a shoulder injury he returned to Cal Poly and completed his BS degree in kinesiology, Cum Laude with a minor in philosophy.
In 2007 he was accepted to the Indiana University School of Optometry. He earned his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree in 2011. His internship rotations included training in primary eye care, specialty contact lenses, and ocular disease and refractive surgery co-management at Eye Surgeons of Indiana. |
Dr. Herbert is certified to treat medical conditions of the eye and its appendages. Because of his sports background he specializes in sports vision and contact lenses. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association. He and his wife Lilli live in Napa with their three young sons.
Dr. Herberts hobbies include playing with his boys, exercising and watching movies in his free time.

Dr. Gregg Beach
Dr. Beach received his Doctor of Optometry Degree (with Distinction) in 1977 from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He served as an officer in the Air Force at the David Grant Medical Center at Travis AFB.
He started his private practice in Napa in 1980. Dr. Beach has advanced certification in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease (TMOD). He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Redwood Empire Optometric Society. He served for many years as an expert examiner for the State Board of Optometry. |
Dr. Beach and his wife, Robin, have four children. They are active in church and community.
Dr. Tem Fugit
Completed both his B.S. degree and Doctor of Optometry degree at Indiana University. He completed post-graduate training in pharmacology & certification (TMOD) in the treatment of ocular disease, from UC Berkeley School of Optometry.
He began his career as a staff optometrist at Permanente Medical Group before starting private practice in Napa in 1979. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and twice served as president of his local optometric society. In addition, he was a founding member of the health professions committee at the Napa Chamber of Commerce. In 1995 he merged his practice with Dr. Gregg Beach at their current location. |
Dr. Fugit and his wife Anne have two sons. They are actively involved in several community organizations.
